SANCTUARY RESIDENTS
Meet our sanctuary equines! Donkey and Dolly are our amabassador donkeys who represent our rescue and enjoy a lovely life at Castle Rock Farm. Other equines have health issues, age, or other difficulties which make them difficult to rehome, so they enjoy a peaceful retirement at our farm and foster farms. Please consider sponsoring one (or more!) of these wonderful equines. Monthly sponsorships start as low as $10 a month. Expenses for these horses usually run about $200 a month.

DONKEY AND DOLLY
Donkey is an elderly survivor of the Peaceable Farm case from October 2015. He will be living out his life as a mascot and ambassador for Hope's Legacy. This small, yet very opinionated charmer loves meeting new people and is always up for attention.
Dolly came to Hope's Legacy from the Virginia Donkey Rescue to be Donkey's companion. While Donkey likes horses, they're just not the same as having his very own donkey friend who never leaves him. Dolly loves an ear scratch!
Thank you Barry and Karen Adkins for your support of Donkey and Dolly
Please consider sponsoring Donkey and Dolly with a monthly donation.
Bees Knees
Bees Knees (“Bees”) is our resident 6 year old mustang mare. She lives at Castle Rock Farm and is a central part of our veterans program, Hope’s Heroes. Bees is an awesome mare who is a fantastic herd member to many of our equines while they find heir new homes. Read more about Bees and the program on the Hope’s Heroes page of our website!
Thank you Joseph Kraemer for your sponsorship of Bee!
Rockalady aka “Breeze”
Breeze is a 19 year old OTTB mare. She does have some back issues so she is not able to be ridden. Breeze enjoys her feed at the perfect thick chili consistency (perfect for getting all over her face) and loves to roll in the mud - but hates the rain. She is a farm favorite!
Breeze is currently in sanctuary thanks to a generous sponsor.
Daisy
Daisy is a paint pony mare who is 29+ years old according to our equine dentist! She is very shy to being handled and bonded with Bay. Given her age and difficulty with handling, she will live out her days at Hope’s Legacy.
If you are interested in sponsoring Daisy please visit our donation page.
Bay
Bay is a pony mare in her early to mid 20s. Like Daisy, Bay has a lot of difficulties with being handled. We are able to provide them with basic medical and hoof care. She is coming around to volunteers for pets and treats.
If you are interested in sponsoring Bay please visit our donation page.

MEET AMBER
Meet Amber Three. She came to Hope's Legacy from Orange County Animal Control in April of 2015. It is hard to see how thin she truly was when she arrived because of her thick winter coat, but she was very thin and completely covered in lice. Several good medicated baths, lots of food and even more love turned Amber into an amazing little horse. Sadly we Amber passed away in early 2020. We thank the Thomas family for giving her such an wonderful home for the last years of her life.
On Christmas of 2015 Amber found her people when she was adopted by the Thomas Family. They volunteer with Hope's Legacy and fell in love with her. Amber was their daughter Taylor's first horse, together they have galloped through fields, competed in the show ring and at hunter paces and spent countless hours just enjoying one another's company.
