Congratulations Carolyn on your adoption of Karma and your success at the Rock Branch show today! We will miss you both but look forward to following your adventures in Michigan!

What an amazing difference 7 months can make. North Garden Equestrian Center has been fostering Ariel since she was removed from the Peaceable Farm property in October of 2015. Today we are thrilled to announce that she will be officially joining the NGEC family!

Congratulations to North Garden Equestrian Center on their adoption of Onyx as well! Onyx is another Peaceable Farm survivor.

Today is a wonderful day! Congratulations to Bonnie and John on their adoption of Goose. Goose survived Peaceable Farm and will now enjoy a long happy retirement hanging out with the rest of Bonnie and John's herd.

Amber Rose was adopted by Kate as a companion for her "ancient" Saddlebred mare Mary. After a few brief squeals the mares settled down into what we hope will be a long and happy friendship.

Happy endings are the best. After we advertised Bad Birdie on an off the track Thoroughbred page on Facebook we were contacted by the family that raced him in his younger years. They missed Birdie and wanted to offer him a long and happy retirement on their farm in Maryland.

Dixie left today for her new home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Congratulations to the Thompson family on adding this sweet mare to their family!

Congratulations to Kathy on her adoption of Buck!

Red has been adopted! Melody who adopted Justin last September had been fostering Red. She and her family decided that they were too attached to Red to risk someone else wanting to adopt him so they added him to the family!

Congratulations to the Beynon family on their adoption of Rain! As happens sometimes, Rain wasn't quite the right fit for the Beynon family. But he was the perfect fit for Gabby so Rain is now part of her family, along with Chic who Gabby adopted in February.

Congratulations to Gabby and her sister Holly on their adoption of Chic!

Congratulations to Kayla on her adoption of Oz. Kayla has been volunteering with Hope's Legacy for a while now and fell in love with Oz! She has started him over fences and we look forward to seeing where they go in the future!

Congratulations to Diana on her adoption of Amber! Diana and her husband Drew drove all the way from Michigan to adopt Amber!

Ico has been adopted by Emma, she had been fostering him for quite a while and couldn't give him up. After months and months of intensive hoof care Ico is now sound and Emma is looking forward to many more years with this handsome guy.

Justin was adopted by one of our wonderful volunteers, Melody!

Congratulations to Liz on her adoption of Puck!

Congratulations to Kami and her daughter Amber on their adoption of Dream. We know that Amber and Dream are going to have years of wonderful times together in the future!

Startlit has been adopted!

Whisper has a little boy of her own now! Congratulations to Isaiah!

Unfortunately Whisper passed away during the winter of 2013. We will miss her.

Congratulations to Tiffany on her adoption of Bubba. We are going to need lots of updates because everyone here at Hope's Legacy is so in love with this sweet baby boy!

Tonka is a 7 year old pony was a stray for a number of months before coming to Hope's Legacy. In June of 2011 both she and Lucy were adopted by Susannah Cadwalader as companions for her other horses.

November 17, 2011 - Sadly Lucy passed away of natural causes, she was 32 years old. This sweet and gentle girl will be greatly missed.

Lucy, a 31 year old Belgian Mare who was a logging horse for years when she was younger and has earned her rest. She as adopted in June of 2011 along with Tonka. They are now hanging out in a nice big field as companions for Susannah Cadwalader's other horses.

We received the following email October 25, 2011

Maya,
I was just thinking about you. We took Firefly to our first Pony Club Games Rally this weekend. She was awesome. She's still loves people, hay, food, grass and treats. She has a great can do attitude under saddle but still all pony. She's not going to do anything she doesn't have to and she'll think about saying no, then do it, then say, "Really. Do I have to?" She's great with the girl who's training her and trying to figure out Ashby. She gets ridden every weekday by the trainer and by Ashby once a week. She is as quiet as we thought she would be, hence we could take her to something like Games Rally. The whole family loves her and all the little girls in the barn think she's the prettiest thing they've ever seen and fawn all over her. She's very patient even without treats! She does seem to be a perfect fit for us and as hard as the beginning of her life may have been, and we suspect some people have been bad, the rest will be heaven.
Thank you so much!

Firefly was adopted to the wonderful Hatcher family where she is now enjoying hanging out with her new mini best friend and having several kids spoil and adore her.

February 24, 2011 - Sadly, after an especially bad episode of colic, Thunder had to be euthanized. He will be greatly missed by everyone here at Hope's Legacy and our thought are with the Keller family in this difficult time.

Thunder was a 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding who came to Hope's Legacy in May of 2009 after having been abandoned at a boarding farm. He was a sweet guy who just needed to find the perfect family and in October of 2009 he did just that. He is now happily spending his days trail riding on the Keller family farm in Crozet, Virginia.
